The Nature Coast Volunteer Center (NCVC) serves as an umbrella organization to support volunteer activities throughout Citrus County, FL. Many volunteer opportunities are available in the cities of Inverness and Crystal River and the following Florida communities - Homosassa, Lecanto, Beverly Hills, Citrus Springs, Pine Ridge, Citrus Hills, Dunnellon, and Chassahowitzka.

The goal of NCVC is to expand services to the citizens of Citrus County and provide a rewarding volunteer experience. Volunteers are offered special event, short-term, or ongoing positions within a variety of local nonprofit organizations and agencies. Volunteer benefits may include partial travel reimbursement, supplemental accident, auto liability and personal liability insurance, recognition event, and quarterly newsletter.

Volunteer opportunities may include: clerical support; clowning; emergency preparedness, response and recovery training; home construction and repair; hospital and hospice patient care; meal delivery; medical transport; mentoring; park preservation; animal rescue and care; tax preparation; and many other positions.
